Job Description

Job Title: U.S. Advertisement Sales Director

Reporting to: Global AdSales Director

Department: Advertisement Sales

This position is with the prestigious Jane’s Information Group, an IHS company. Jane’s is a 106-year-old defense, aerospace, transportation and security information collection and analysis firm. We are a leading provider of intelligence and analysis on national and International defense, as well as security and risk response capabilities. Jane’s delivers clients a strategic advantage from intelligence acquired by a worldwide network of consultants, analysts, and subject matter experts. We are looking for an experienced, forward thinking Director for our U.S. Advertising sales group. The Director will be responsible for all advertising sales and sponsorship across Jane’s publications in all formats including hard copy, online and conference sponsorship in North and South America.

This will include:

Full responsiblility for US ad sales revenue target achievement across all advertising channels* Responsibility for growing market share across all platforms in designated territories, referring regularly to IMS e-basket service* Lead and support the sales managers and one agent in North America in all areas of customer engagement and sales success* Build closer relationships with key accounts using Miller Heimann methodology through engagement with senior levels of key customers on a regular basis* Develop advertising in all products and recommend new revenue packages and opportunities* Actively seek out new opportunities for ad sales revenue growth* Produce monthly reports highlighting principal sales activities and results, new initiatives and market trend* Monitor competitors activities in the market place and report updates in every monthly report* Ensure 100% utilisation of the advertising sales contact management system, Media Services, by all in-house sales representatives* Provide strategy and tactics plans for achieving annual revenue target* Assist with compilation of annually produced media packs, rate cards and all other relevant marketing collateral* Liaise with other Jane’s departments to maximise potential revenue opportunities using Best-in-School pipeline management techniques* Increase Jane's magazines' advertising market share significantly in North America.

Job Requirements

The candidate should demonstrate honed leadership qualities, communication skills, customer engagement and teamwork skills nad be able to work under the pressure caused by tight deadlines.
