Seminar Background

This seminar will review year-to-date global terrorism and insurgency trends, as recorded by Jane's Terrorism & Insurgency Centre's (JTIC) database. JTIC analysts will highlight trends in those countries that have either seen significant increases or decreases in terrorism activity as well as identifying major tactical and targeting shifts and the emergence of new groups and the progression of established ones.

As well as providing a global view, Jane’s analysts will also offer –

Detailed insight into the drivers of the major insurgencies, including MEND's campaign in Nigeria's Niger Delta region which has witnessed an increasingly active insurgency and one in which security clampdowns have achieved only sporadic success
Analysis of the impact of ongoing militancy in the Niger Delta and its significance to the country's oil production, particularly at a time of falling global oil prices
