How can I purchase photos from the 2008 event?
To view and purchase images on-line, please log into www.stevep-pix.com Go to order prints on-line and use the password police_2008. All award winner and group shots of nominees have an option of a border. These are sized at 10x8 (plus 12x8 for wider group), there is also a black and white version. Prints can be ordered at any size, but please check that they are suitable for your preference as cropping may occur. You will see a red box around the image, showing how it will work with the chosen size. If you would like any other frames added with a border or a b/w version, please send an email to stevep@stevep-pix.com with the size you require and this can be added to the gallery.

How can I enter?
Nomination forms for each category will be sent from Jane’s Police Review in March 2009 to each Chief Constable from every force in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. A liaison officer is appointed in every force to collate force nominations.

When does the Judging take place?
The judging for the Community Police Officer of the Year Award, The Student Officer of the Year Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award will take place in early July 2008.

The Judging Panel is made up of senior representatives from Police Federation of England and Wales, Superintendents’ Association, Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Constabulary, The Association of Chief Police Officers, National Policing Improvement Agency, Association of Police Authorities.

The judges will be looking for examples of excellent practice that have made a real difference to the lives of the communities that officers serve.
The diversity judging panel will convene in early July 2008 for the Diversity in Action Award.

The panel is made up of senior representatives from the National Black Police Association, British Association of Women in Policing, Race and Diversity, H.M. Inspectorate of Constabulary, Police Federation of England and Wales, Centrex, Gay Police Association, Superintendents’ Association, Cheshire Constabulary,
Judges will be looking for evidence of outstanding achievement or proven innovative practice in the diversity field in delivering policing services to communities with the emphasis clearly on operational outcomes.

What happens at the award ceremony?
The Jane's Police Review Gala Awards will take place on 28 October at the London Hilton Hotel on Park Lane in London. All nominees in all five categories are invited to attend. We are inviting the Rt Hon. Jacqui Smith MP, The Home Secretary as guest of honour. Judges and senior representatives from policing and government as well as sponsor organisations will also be present. The evening starts at 6pm with a predinner drinks reception. This will be followed by the gala dinner and the awards ceremonies. Every nominee whether they turn out to be a winner or a runner-up is celebrated and given a medal of achievement. All nominees will be published in a souvenir brochure distributed on the evening and in Jane's Police Review.

When will I receive my invitations?
Your invitations will be sent to you as soon as you book your table so that you can send onto your confirmed guests.

Who do I notify if one of my guests has special dietary requirements?
A dietary requirements form will be included in the nomination pack. This must be completed and returned to the organisers at least 48 hours prior to the event, otherwise charges will apply.

How do I buy tickets for the dinner?
To register your place, please use the booking form.

What’s included in the price of the table?
The cost of the table for commercial guests includes:

What is the dress code for the evening?
Full dress uniform is required for all serving police officers and ACPO representatives and black tie for all other guests, including PCSO’s.

Do you offer guests preferential rates at nearby hotels for the night of the awards?
Yes. Jane’s have secured preferential rates and more information is found on the venue page of this website.

Do you provide invitations to send out to my guests?
Yes. Invitations will be sent out to each force liaison officer. Commercial guests will receive their invitations directly upon booking their table.

What if I wish to order additional wines?
Once you have booked your table, you will be sent wine order forms and wine lists so that you may order additional wines for your table.
Please note that we do not handle your wine forms from here. These should be sent directly to the Royal Horticultural Halls. Any queries on the wine orders should be directed to the venue.

What is your cancellation policy?
If you are unable to attend, you can send another guest in your place by contacting Jane’s Events Department with their details. Cancellation of awards dinner reservations prior to 28 September 2009 will attract a 50% cancellation fee. For cancellations after 21 October 2009, full payment will be required.
