2009 Jane's All the World's Aircraft Editorial Team

Paul Jackson

Editor-in-Chief - Paul Jackson
The chance gift of an aircraft book at the age of six was the Genesis of a passion for all matters aeronautical that has absorbed Paul Jackson for almost half a century. He became editor of an aviation society newsletter in his native Yorkshire shortly after leaving school, he contributed to amateur and professional aviation journals, on both historical and current matters, for a further decade before becoming a freelance aerospace writer and editor. In 1987, he was invited to join the compiling team of Jane's All the World's Aircraft, being appointed its editor in 1995. His hobbies are flying and maintaining a veteran lightplane, aviation photography, chairing a branch of the Light Aircraft Association; and serving on the civilian committee of his local Air Training Corps Squadron. In 2004, he was appointed a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.

Deputy Editor - Kenneth Munson
After education at Eltham College, London, Kenneth Munson worked in the Air Ministry from 1945 to 1959 and then he turned to aviation journalism as a career. Author of nearly 40 books on current and historical aviation, he joined the compiling team of Jane's All the World's Aircraft in 1968, becoming its Assistant Editor in 1973 and Deputy Editor in 1990. His responsibility for the book's section on unmanned air vehicles turned into editorship of a specialised sister publication in 1995 when the subject grew too large for an appendix.

Assistant Editor - Lindsay Peacock
Lindsay Peacock was born in Hammersmith, London and educated in Harrow. On leaving school in 1964, he worked for British European Airways, remaining with them and their successor, British Airways, until 1976 when he left to become a freelance aviation writer and photographer. He subsequently specialised in military aviation and has written many books and articles on the subject. Since 1994, he has contributed to IHS Jane's, as joint editor of World Air Forces; also compiling many of the military entries for Jane's All the World's Aircraft and taking responsibility for checking all the calculations in the latter.

Compiler - Susan Bushell
Born into an RAF family with an aviation enthusiast father, Susan Bushell has been surrounded by aircraft since childhood and rapidly and unavoidably developed a strong interest in the subject. Her first article on aviation was published in a national magazine when she was 14. Soon after leaving school, Susan began working for a succession of aviation magazine and book publishers, augmenting her knowledge of aircraft with experience of layout and printing. She also took the time to gain a private pilot's licence. Having edited the monthly Aviation World, Susan joined Jane's All the World's Aircraft in 1996, specialising in the rapidly expanding field of light aviation and compiling statistics on the aircraft industry.
